Form
Large 50' to 100' tree, straight trunk with a rounded open crown. Gold or yellow fall color.
Bark
Grey in color with cracks running up trunk, bark is not loose or flaky.
Leaf
Leaves are long and compounded with upto 11 slender pointed leaflets attached to a single stem. Green color and can appear shiny or polished color.
Fruit (Seed)
Bitter nut with hairs covering the husk. Usually rounded with 4 sections connecting at a pointed end.
Range
Predominatly in the southeastrn part of the state.

Tool handles, furniture, shims and dowels, meat smoking
